Teens and older students

Our open studio classes are structured for students in grades 9–12, We offer dedicated time and space to develop artistic skills, explore new materials, and build a personal body of work. Whether you're creating portfolio pieces, experimenting with new techniques, or pursuing independent projects, this class provides guidance in a relaxed, studio-style environment.

Students may work in drawing, painting, mixed media, or other two-dimensional art forms at their own pace, with individualized instruction and feedback from the instructor. Demonstrations and mini-lessons are offered as needed, while the majority of class time is devoted to hands-on studio practice.

This class is ideal for students who enjoy working independently, want to strengthen their technical skills, prepare for advanced art courses or college portfolios, or simply make art in a supportive community of fellow artists.

Our Studio Drawing and Painting Classes provide students with instructional studio time to explore various materials, methods, and concepts related to fine art. 

Our environment strives to enhance observational skills, technical proficiency, and creative expression through structured projects and personal exploration with an emphasis on line, shape, value, texture, and composition- including observational drawing from life. Materials include the use of media like graphite, charcoal, acrylic paint, guache, watercolor, and ink. In addition, students are introduced to color theory, mixing, and learning form through light and shadow.  We encourage personal voice and expression, developing original ideas and critiquing self and peer's artwork in a positive setting.

Book your clay party for 10 participants or less

Party includes 1.5 hours of fun in our clay studio:

Choose from the following parties:

1. Axolotl Party: Build your own clay Axolotl and have fun painting them with lots of colors! (Take home the same day)

2. Ice Cream Party:Build an Ice Cream Box, decorate it with lots of sprinkles and Paint it mint chocolate chip or your favorite flavor! (Take home the same day)

3. Dragon Party: Dragon Sculptures that rock! Learn to build a dragon with scales and fire! Paint it up sparkly metallic colors! ( Take home the same day)

4. Paint Your Own Pottery Party- Monster Canisters are a blast! ( Pick up in one week)

*Parties are non-refundable 

(this party does not include refreshment space but feel free to bring drinks to have in our ceramic studio.)
