Mix it up: Drawing Painting Ceramics and Crafting

Our drawing and painting classes are focused on teaching children the basic techniques of creating art using a variety of mediums, such as pencils, charcoal, and paint. Children in these classes may learn about elements of art, such as line, shape, color, and texture, and principles of design, such as composition and perspective. They may also learn about the different styles and methods used in drawing and painting. They may have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media and techniques.  Each class is tailored to children who may be at different levels, from beginner to advanced. In our mix it up classes, we spend time in our ceramic studio. Our focus is on teaching students how to create art using clay. In these classes,children learn about the properties of different types of clay and how to work with them to create a variety of forms, such as pots, sculptures, and tiles. They may also learn about different glazing techniques and how these techniques can be used to create different effects on the finished piece. The remaining piece to our mix it up classes is crafting classes. Crafting classes teach children how to create a variety of handmade items, such as jewelry, clothing, home decor, and gifts. In these classes, students learn about different materials and techniques, such as knitting, sewing, crochet, and jewelry-making, and have the opportunity to experiment with these techniques to create their own unique projects.  Our classes offer a social environment for students to make new friends and have some fun while creating.
